The Gore Bay Medical Centre is a small clinic with 3 full-time MD positions.   We have 4 full-time staff, which include a phlebotomist.  We have part-time x-ray on site.  The office is well-equipped, the staff are competent and very supportive.

Gore Bay is a rural community (2.5 hour drive from Sudbury ) of 900 people. Our clinic provides service to all the communities of the west end of Manitoulin (resident population 2500 with many seasonal visitors).  The office is open Monday to Friday 8:30-5:00.  We provide care at our local nursing home as well.   We do see minor emergencies, including lacerations.  The closest hospital is 45 minutes away.  No inpatients, ER or OB.   

We are fully computerized (Practice Solutions).

Call is 1 in 2 but is very light and does not include weekends.  We manage calls from the nursing home as well as calls from the community.

You will earn $1142 per day plus the 9% of FFS received for shadow billing as well as 100% of 3rd party fees.  No overhead.  There is a stipend for travel and accomodation through the locum program.
