Job Description
The West Nipissing General Hospital (WNGH) is located in Sturgeon Falls, Ontario. We are centrally located, just a short 1 hour drive to Sudbury and an easy 4-hour drive from Ottawa or Toronto. Come enjoy the perfect blend of rural lifestyle with an urban feel. We are looking for locum Family Medicine physicians to join our team.
Hospitalist Coverage:
-Friday, February 13 @ 8am until Sunday, February 15 @ 8am
-Monday, March 12 @ 8pm until Monday, March 16 @ 8am
-Thursday, March 26 @ 8pm until Monday, March 30 @ 8am
Nursing Care Unit:
-Acute (general medicine): 25 - daily rounding
-Alternate Levels of Care (ALC): 6 - 2x/week rounding
-Complex Continuing Care (CCC): 19 - Monthly rounding
-Hospice suite: 1
Supports:
-RNs, RPNs, PSW’s
-Dietitian
-Discharge planner
-Social worker
-Pharmacist
-Respiratory Therapist
-Physiotherapist
Medical Records: Meditech Expanse
Travel and accommodation expenses:
-daily $353.67 honorarium for every approved work and travel day
-accommodations and travel expenses through Health Force Ontario’s Northern Specialist Locum Program (NSLP).
Hospitalist Job Description:
-complete daily rounds on general medicine patients
-be available by phone from 0800-2200.
-be responsible for calls from the Long Term Care Department from 2000 until 0700 hours (infrequent).
Compensation
Daily stipend: $1000/day
+all OHIP billings (typically between $1,000-$1,300/day)
Total: $1000/day+billings
