Locum Paediatrician Opportunity August ‘25-December ‘26 Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre, Barrie, Ontario

Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre (RVH) is currently seeking a Locum (August 2025 - December 2026) General Consultant Paediatrician to provide coverage as part of a collegial and supportive team of 14 paediatricians. This opportunity offers flexibility, a diverse scope of practice, and the chance to work in one of Ontario’s fastest growing and most vibrant communities.

 Located in Barrie, Ontario, RVH is a state-of-the-art facility that has undergone significant expansion, including the largest capital project in the history of the Simcoe Muskoka region. Barrie is ideally situated just one hour north of Toronto, offering access to both urban amenities and year-round outdoor recreation.

Practice Details:

·        Locum position within a well-established group practice

·        Scope includes outpatient office-based clinics, inpatient paediatric care, and emergency consultations

·        Participation in general paediatric call coverage at RVH

·        Remuneration through Ontario’s Alternate Payment Plan (APP), combining salary, fee-for-service, and sessional fees

·        Academic opportunities available through our affiliation with the University of Toronto

Hospital Highlights:

·        319 beds, including 12 bassinets in a Level 2C Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)

·        8 dedicated paediatric inpatient beds and 16 obstetrical beds

·        Over 2,000 births annually

·        Emergency Department sees 85,000 visits annually, with ~17% paediatric volume

·        Approximately 2,200 outpatient paediatric visits annually

Qualifications:

Certification in Paediatrics by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada

Eligible for licensure in Ontario through the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO)
