Terrace is situated on the traditional territory of the Ts'msyen or “Tsimshian” people. Ts’msyen means “Inside the Skeena River” and the community is built at the confluence of the Kitsumkalum River into the Skeena River. Snow-capped mountains, pristine glacier-fed rivers, lakes and streams all add to the beauty of this community.

After work you can enjoy the exceptional outdoor recreational activities offered by the Pacific Northwest. Whether it’s mountain biking, skiing, snowmobiling, hiking, paddling, fishing, or trail running, there’s no shortage of outdoor opportunities in Terrace. From spring to fall enjoy an ever growing network of mountain bike trails supported by the Terrace Off Road Cycling Association (TORCA). During the winter, Shames Mountain plays host to an incredibly welcoming and family friendly ski community with backcountry access to endless backcountry terrain.

Terrace is a vibrant, entrepreneurial, and friendly community with a medical catchment area of approximately 31000.
