Description:
This position is a part of the Alberta Academic Medicine and Health Services Program (AMHSP) and the Association of the Academic Staff of the University of Alberta (AASUA).
Remuneration for this position will be commensurate with qualifications and experience and based on the income scale of the six-step Academic Medicine and Health Services Program (AMHSP).
The successful candidate will be offered a contingent tenure-track appointment with the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor, which is in accordance with the University of Alberta Faculty Agreement and offers a comprehensive benefits package.
The University of Alberta, Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry, in partnership with Alberta Health Services (AHS) invites applications for an interventional cardiologist of any academic level to join as a full-time tenured track faculty within the Division of Pediatric Cardiology in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Alberta.
This position is a full time (1.0 FTE) tenure track (contingent) position, with approximately 60% clinical service and 40% academic pursuits including research, teaching, and administrative duties (distribution negotiable).

Position Responsibilities:
• Clinical Excellence: clinical service would include cardiac catheterization laboratory services and general pediatric cardiology care, including inpatient cardiac ward or consultative services and general pediatric cardiology outpatient clinics.
• Education and Mentorship: teaching expectations would include mentoring of cardiology residents and interventional cardiology fellows, formative and bedside teaching.
• Research Contribution: academic productivity is assessed based on locally initiated clinical research, national and international collaborations, publications in peer-reviewed journals and other related activities.
• Collaboration and Engagement: work closely with other programs, interdisciplinary teams, and healthcare professionals to advance Pediatric Cardiology care and the education of Pediatric Cardiology trainees.

Qualifications:
Interested applicants must have:
• MD degree (or equivalent)
• Completed specialty training in Pediatrics and subspecialty training in Pediatric Cardiology
• A minimum of 1 year of dedicated training in advanced Invasive Pediatric Interventional Cardiology
• Experience and success in research, with a proven record of research achievements as evidenced by, at a minimum, peer-reviewed publications
• Certified or eligible to become a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (Pediatric Cardiology) or equivalent.
• Eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA).

• Interest/Training in Pediatric Lymphatic Diagnostics and Intervention
