ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Priority Health Clinic Group is recruiting a pediatrician, or a family physician with a focused practice in pediatrics, to join our clinic in Pickering, located in the Jerry Coughlan Health and Wellness Centre. Pickering and Durham Region are home to many young families, and demand for pediatric care is high. We have a large volume of referrals waiting, so you can expect a very busy practice from the start.
We welcome applications from:
- Certified pediatricians (FRCPC, Pediatrics)
- Family physicians with enhanced training or a focused practice in pediatrics
SCOPE OF PRACTICE
- General pediatric consultations
- Newborn and infant follow-up
- Growth and developmental assessments
- Behavioural and developmental concerns, including ADHD assessment and management
- Asthma, allergy and other chronic pediatric conditions
- Adolescent health
- Freedom to shape your practice and add services or clinics that match your interests
WHAT WE OFFER
- A large, steady referral stream from our group of 12 family physicians, our busy urgent care centre and the surrounding community
- An established, well-run clinic with a large patient base
- A growing interprofessional team, with Family Health Team allied health services in development
- Diagnostic imaging in the same building, plus on-site X-ray in our urgent care
- A pharmacy on site
- A collegial, multidisciplinary environment, with internal medicine, dermatology, general surgery and family medicine on staff
- Full administrative support, including booking and referral coordination
- Flexible scheduling (full-time, part-time or sessional days)
- The clinic is open 7 days a week
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- A physician who holds, or is eligible for, an independent practice licence with the CPSO
- Pediatricians: FRCPC in Pediatrics
- Family physicians: CCFP, with additional training or experience in pediatrics (for example, an enhanced skills program or an established pediatric-focused practice)
- A physician who wants to build and grow a busy pediatric service
