Family Physician – Walk-In & Family Practice

Position: Part-Time / Flexible

We are seeking a Family Physician to join our established medical clinic in Whitby.

This is a flexible opportunity for a physician looking to combine walk-in clinic coverage with family practice. The physician can provide walk-in coverage on a few select days each week, as well as provide coverage when other physicians are away. On the remaining days, there is an opportunity to build and manage your own family practice.

Compensation

The position is offered on a Fee-for-Service (FFS) basis.

The physician bills OHIP directly for services provided and receives the associated billings. An agreed portion of the billings is then paid to the clinic for the use of the facility, infrastructure, and administrative support.

To help support a new physician during the transition and start-up period, the clinic will waive its portion of the billings for the first month. This allows the physician to get established and build their practice without an initial clinic fee.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive primary care to walk-in and family practice patients
• Assess and manage acute and chronic medical conditions
• Provide appropriate follow-up and continuity of care
• Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation
• Work collaboratively with clinic physicians and staff
• Provide coverage for other physicians when required

Requirements

• Licensed to practise medicine in Ontario
• CPSO registration in good standing
• Eligible to bill OHIP
• Family Medicine certification or equivalent
• Strong clinical, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Commitment to high-quality, patient-centred care
