Recovery Alberta is inviting applications from Physicians with expertise in Addiction Medicine for a position on the Acute Care Addiction Recovery Program (ACARP) Team. There are four 0.2-0.4 FTE positions available at the University of Alberta Hospital (UAH).
The position involves providing full-spectrum medical withdrawal management (including alcohol, opioids, and sedatives/hypnotics); individualized assessment and treatment planning, including pharmacological treatment and coordination with multi-disciplinary team members; support for Narcotic Transition Services in compliance with Mental Health Services Protection Regulation (MHSPR); and referral to community recovery services.
Qualifications:
Candidates must be eligible for certification with either the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or the College of Family Physicians of Canada. They must also be licensed with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA). Additional training or experience in addiction medicine is required. All applicants must have secured approval from the CPSA for opioid agonist treatment initiation.
