Join a progressive, high-impact interprofessional Addiction Medicine team in Toronto’s East End and help shape the future of community-based substance use care.
Our specialized RAAM-Modeled clinic, offering opioid agonist treatment plus treatment for all substance use disorders is expanding, and we’re seeking a dedicated Addiction Medicine Physician (with experience in methadone, suboxone, SROM, Alcohol withdrawal and anti-craving medication, harm reduction, concurrent disorders) who is interested in building a meaningful practice in a supportive, interdisciplinary environment. If you’re a Quebec-based physician looking for new professional opportunities, improved clinical autonomy, or a change in lifestyle, we offer a seamless transition to practicing in Ontario—along with full onboarding support.
Our outpatient community practice is actively seeking a part-time physician.
We’re hiring for:
- A part-time position requiring 1-2 HALF days per week, with the possibility of expansion.
- Patients are seen in-person, virtually, or a combination of both.
- The physician will act as the MRP for patients of the clinic, follow them through weekly appointments and cultivate a strong therapeutic alliance.
- Professional duties include conducting:
- *pre-intake, intake, withdrawal management, and as needed follow up assessments of patients.
- A passion for working with a vulnerable mental health population is the most important requirement.
- Remuneration is a combination of fee for service split and stipends
- Optional on-call opportunities available and are generously remunerated.
- Preference will be given to physicians who are interested and experienced in addiction medicine or mental health
What you'll be doing:
- Provide best practice clinical care including diagnosis and ongoing management of substance use and concurrent medical and psychiatric management and psychotherapeutic interventions
- Utilize computer medical administration through OSCAR EMR (training provided)
- Support colleagues with patient care coverage during physician absences,
- Provide legal and employment/insurance reports, as necessary
- Direct communication with referral sources, where necessary
- Complete OHIP billings in a timely manner
What we're looking for:
- Degree in Medicine and a license, in good standing, to practice medicine in Ontario
- Registration with CPSO, plus CFPC or FRCP
- Clinical support and mentorship available
