Job Description
The Huron Shores Family Health Team – Richards Landing Matthews Site and the North Shore Health Network (NSHN) Richards Landing Matthews site are seeking 3 family physicians to join their experienced health care team. With a progressive practice and generous incentives, you and your family can enjoy all that the north shore has to offer.
Located 1-hour from Sault Ste. Marie on beautiful St. Joseph’s Island, the Huron Shores Family Health Team and North Shore Health Network are comprised of two (2) family physicians. This group is looking to grow their team to five (5) full-time family physician positions. Together, the physician group cares for a catchment area of approximately 6,000 residents.
The physician group provides on-call coverage at the North Shore Health Network (NSHN) – Richards Landing Matthews Site. This facility is equipped with a 24-hour Emergency Department.
This practice opportunity allows physicians to work in a clinical setting as well as practice emergency medicine, all while enjoying ample family time.
The successful candidate will hold a Medical Degree and have completed a Family Residency program from a recognized University, as well as be in good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.
Practice Includes:
- 37 days of locum funding through HealthForceOntario (HFO) and the Ministry of Health (MOH)
- Teaching opportunities with the Northern Ontario School of Medicine
- Equitably divided on-call schedule at the North Shore Health Network
- OTN and e-consults
Compensation and Incentives Include:
- Rural and Northern Physician Group Agreement (RNPGA)
- Community grant eligibility of $110,306 (Northern and Rural Recruitment and Retention Initiative), paid over four years by the MOH
- $6,000 in relocation assistance
- $6,000 in housing incentive paid over 6 months or a $100,000 interest free loan
- $10,000 paid out over five years of practice, paid on the anniversary of hire
