Cambridge Memorial Hospital is seeking a skilled Pediatrician (Locum & Permanent) to join our team.

We are looking for an individual to provide inpatient Pediatric care with optional community care. The successful candidate will participate in the Pediatrics on-call schedule as well as the rounding schedule. Demonstration of continuous quality improvement and of our values; caring, collaboration, innovation, respect and accountability is necessary. The successful candidate will hold FRCPC certification, or equivalent, and be eligible for CPSO licensure.

Remuneration if fee-for-service, based on the physician’s OHIP billings. An additional stipend is available through the Hospital On-call Coverage (HOCC) for participation in on-call shifts.

CMH is a 190-bed community hospital, equipped with modern diagnostic laboratory and imaging support services. CMH is classified as a Level IIC hospital, specializing in the care of mothers and babies from 34 weeks gestation age and above, handling between 1400-1600 deliveries annually. CMH has a newly renovated, spacious and modern 8-bed Level II NICU and a 6-8 bed general pediatrics inpatient unit.

Pediatricians on-call additionally attend high-risk deliveries, provide consultations in the Emergency Department, and the Bilirubin and Pediatric Rapid Access Clinic. There will be support for establishing a community general pediatric clinic for interested applicants. CMH is supported by McMaster Hospital in Hamilton, as our tertiary referral centre, approximately 45 minutes away from Cambridge. On-call shifts are in-hospital, 12 hours day/night weekday shifts, with 24 hour weekend shifts. In addition, there is the opportunity for one week of rounding on all admitted patients (hospitalist) shifts, approximately every 6 weeks (Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm).

As an affiliated teaching site with the Waterloo Campus of the Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine, McMaster University, there are opportunities to engage with medical learners at various levels, including medical students and residents.
