Job Description
Alberta Health Services is seeking a seasoned hospitalist to lead one of Calgary Zone’s inpatient sites as Site Lead, bringing vision and energy to a program that values clinical excellence and meaningful collaboration. This role offers the opportunity to shape care delivery, influence policy, and directly impact health outcomes across the region.
As Site Lead, you’ll guide a team of hospitalists, ensuring 24/7 coverage and high-quality care grounded in evidence-based guidelines. You’ll oversee clinical standards, manage physician resources, and lead audits, reviews, and investigations to maintain accountability and foster improvement. Your influence will extend beyond your team, forging strong relationships across Emergency, Internal Medicine, Mental Health, and operational partners.
With a focus on mentorship and medical education, you’ll support learners and physicians alike while advancing strategic goals for patient flow, capacity, and safety. You'll chair key meetings, resolve disputes, monitor performance metrics, and represent the program at zone-level planning discussions.
This is more than an operational role, it’s a platform for a thoughtful leader to elevate inpatient medicine, strengthen team culture, and build lasting clinical impact. If you’re ready to lead with integrity and inspire change, this opportunity is built for you.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must have recent hospitalist experience in the Calgary Zone, be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta and demonstrate strong communication and leadership skills. All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply; however, Canadians and Permanent Residents will be given priority.

We are an equal opportunity employer. AHS values the diversity of the people and communities we serve and is committed to attracting, engaging, and developing a diverse and inclusive workforce
