Job Description
The Windsor Heart Institute is a regional leader in cardiac diagnostics and health management. Comprised of fellowship-trained cardiologists and technical staff certified in their professions, we are committed to compassionate, individualized care for all patients. Currently, we are recruiting Cardiologists and Cardiac-Focused Internists to join our team in clinic throughout Ontario. We have immediate openings in Windsor, Corunna, and Kingsville. In addition, we are building a team for our first Toronto clinic. These positions can be full-time or part-time.
The Windsor Heart Institute has 6 clinics within Ontario and opening 2 additional clinics in Q4 2025. We provide patients with best-in-class cardiology testing which includes Echocardiograms, Stress Echos, Holter, ECG Testing and Nuclear Cardiology diagnostics.
The Physicians will be essential in diagnosing and managing cardiovascular diseases using advanced imaging techniques. This role includes interpreting diagnostic imaging results, collaborating with fellow specialists, consulting with patients, and contributing to the creation of treatment plans informed by diagnostic findings. The ideal candidate will possess a robust understanding of cardiovascular health and specialized expertise in interpreting imaging studies such as echocardiograms, Holter monitors, stress tests, ECGs, and MIBIs. In addition, there is the opportunity for both Cardiologists and Internists to supervise Stress Echos in our clinics.
Key Responsibilities
- Cardiovascular Diagnostics: Review and interpret cardiovascular imaging studies, including echocardiograms, CT scans, MRIs, and stress tests to diagnose various cardiovascular conditions such as heart disease, arrhythmias, and vascular disorders.
- Patient Consultation and Management: Conduct patient consultations based on imaging results, providing a thorough explanation of diagnoses and treatment options. Develop personalized care plans in collaboration with other specialists.
- Collaboration with Medical Team: Work closely with cardiologists, technicians, and other specialists to ensure comprehensive care for patients. Discuss complex cases in multidisciplinary team meetings to facilitate optimal treatment plans.
- Patient Education: Educate patients on their cardiovascular conditions, potential risks, and preventive care. Encourage healthy lifestyle changes and adherence to treatment regimens.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure the accuracy and quality of diagnostic results. Stay up-to-date with advances in cardiovascular imaging technologies and techniques to improve patient outcomes.
- Record Keeping and Documentation: Maintain detailed and accurate patient records, including diagnostic findings, treatment plans, and progress reports, in compliance with clinic policies and legal requirements.
Qualifications
- Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
- Valid and current medical license to practice in Ontario.
- Experience in interpreting diagnostic imaging for cardiovascular diseases, including echocardiography, stress testing, MIBI, etc.
- Experience in providing patient consultation on cardiovascular disease.
- Strong understanding of cardiovascular diseases and treatments.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and provide high-quality patient care.
