Halton Healthcare - Anesthesiologists

Halton Healthcare is currently seeking part-time and full-time anesthesiologists to join our growing Anesthesiology group. Join our team and be part of a rapidly expanding, modern surgical program with state-of-the-art surgical suites and a busy labour and delivery service. Halton Healthcare consists of 3 sites: Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital (OTMH), Milton District Hospital (MDH) and Georgetown Hospital (GH).

OTMH is a state of the art 457-bed acute care hospital that opened in 2015. There are 11 OR suites, fully equipped regional anesthesia block rooms, an Ambulatory Procedures Unit (APU) with 4 OR suites, 11 birthing suites with an additional 2 OR suites and preoperative clinic. MDH expanded the current facility in 2017 and offers a modern surgical program inclusive of new surgical suites and access to obstetrics, emergency department, advanced diagnostics and inpatient units.

Overall, the Anesthesia department currently consists of 28 FRCPC trained anesthesiologists. We provide on call coverage for the OR and Obstetrics with the help of 7 full time anesthesia assistants. The Anesthesia group also covers the inpatient acute pain service and outpatient preoperative clinic with the support of 4 Nurse practitioners. We also provide regular coverage for therapeutic endoscopy and the GI suite.

There is a full complement of general surgery, vascular, orthopedic surgery, urology, plastic surgery, obstetrics and gynecology and otolaryngology specialists. Robotic surgeries are performed for joint replacement and urological procedures. A closed ICU, and advanced diagnostic and interventional radiology are also available.

Successful candidates should have certification in anesthesia from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or equivalent and must be eligible/licenced in the Province of Ontario. Additional fellowship training would be considered an asset.

Halton Healthcare is affiliated with McMaster University and Toronto Metropolitan University. The successful applicant will demonstrate a commitment to medical education at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
