Job Description

Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist

Part-Time or Full-Time Opportunity Available

Physicians trained in Canada and the United States are encouraged to apply. We also welcome other qualified international applicants who are licensure-eligible. Work permit assistance is available if needed.

The Mental Health and Addictions Department is seeking a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to join a collaborative team of Psychiatrists providing care across our inpatient unit, Family and Youth Clinic, and Child and Adolescent Urgent Care Clinic. This role offers a dynamic mix of urgent and scheduled outpatient assessment and treatment, with opportunities to work within both the Urgent Care Clinic and the Family and Youth Clinic. The position also includes psychiatric consultation to the Pediatric (medical) Unit and shared coverage of the Inpatient Child and Adolescent Unit. This is a full-time or part-time opportunity, with the ability to tailor the role to areas of special clinical interest.

Our program values collaboration and maintains strong partnerships with local First Nations communities and the Peterborough Family Health Team. Experience or interest in providing assessment and treatment for adolescents with dual diagnosis would be an asset, supporting our Dual Diagnosis Community Consultation Program in partnership with CMHA and Tri- County Behavioural Services.
