Job Description

Winchester District Memorial Hospital is recruiting a Gastroenterologist to join our team, working with both our General Surgeons and General Internal Medicine specialists. There is ample opportunity to develop a thriving community practice with associated hospital services such as endoscopy and inpatient care.  Check out our video - Come Join the WDMH Team!
Practice Opportunity Includes:
  • Join a dynamic team of general surgeons and general internal medicine specialists 
  • Opportunity to teach residents and medical students
  • In addition to a community practice, there is opportunity for in-hospital clinics (up to one day per week) as well as inpatient consultations.
  • Endoscopy suite access is available on a weekly basis and can increase as required to a maximum of 4-5 days per month
  • Hospital call is as part of the General Internal Medicine group and is approximately one day per week and 1 weekend every 4-6 weeks.
Employer Description:
WDMH is a 49 bed rural community teaching hospital with over 600 obstetrical deliveries and approximately 2400 medical and surgical admissions per year.   We serve approximately 90,000 patients, with over 50 000 visits per year, of which 24,000 are Emergency Department, 450 surgical in-patients, 4000 day surgeries, over 600 obstetrical deliveries, and 19,000 ambulatory clinic visits.  There are approximately 25 full-time family doctors working within the hospital setting, supported by a robust team of surgical, anesthesia, medical and obstetrical specialists.   Many other area family physicians provide community care or work in the Emergency Department and make referrals regularly to specialists practicing at WDMH.

Compensation Type:
