Job Description
Join Covenant Health as a Clinical Associate
Covenant Health invites applications for Clinical Associate (Non-MRP Hospitalist) positions based primarily at Misericordia Community Hospital in Edmonton, Alberta.
Clinical Associates are fully licensed physicians who provide overnight medical coverage within Covenant Health’s Acute Care Coverage (ACC) program. Working alongside Associate Physicians, Residents, and Most Responsible Physicians (MRPs), Clinical Associates support the care of complex inpatients across multiple medicine services while contributing to a collaborative, team-based model of care.
This role is part of Covenant Health’s Big Medicine approach, an innovative overnight coverage model designed to support a growing and increasingly complex inpatient population. Rather than working exclusively within a single service, Clinical Associates provide support across a co-managed medicine program that includes General Internal Medicine (GIM), the Primary Care Hospitalist Team (PCHT) and Coronary Care Unit (CCU).
Within this model, providers are assigned primary clinical responsibilities while also contributing to the broader needs of the inpatient population. This collaborative approach promotes timely patient assessments, supports patient flow, and ensures access to medical expertise across services during overnight hours.

· Primary Care Hospitalist Team (PCHT)
· Coronary Care Unit (CCU)

· Collaborate with Most Responsible Physicians (MRPs) regarding complex patient care and escalation needs.
· Support a co-managed model of care by contributing to both assigned patient populations and broader service needs.
· Work collaboratively with physicians, nursing staff, residents, Associate Physicians, and allied health professionals to ensure safe and effective patient care.
· Contribute to patient flow, timely clinical decision-making, and operational efficiency across inpatient medicine services.
