Job Description

The Division of Geriatric Psychiatry, Island Health, is seeking a Geriatric Psychiatrist to provide locum support in Victoria. Locum dates and period are flexible, though specifically looking for full-time coverage beginning of July to end of September 2026.

The locum Geriatric Psychiatrist will predominantly provide consultations to inpatient services on our 2 South unit at RJH, as well as some outpatient services, including the Sandringham Tertiary Care Unit, which provides psychiatric and psychosocial rehabilitation to complex clientele.

There may also be opportunities to provide service in Neuromodulatory treatments (ECT, TMS) as well as Telehealth to other island communities.

Participation in the Geriatric Psychiatry call rotation is a requirement of this position.

The Division enjoys collegial relationships with the Island Health geriatric medicine, adult psychiatry and hospitalist services.

Inpatient services and the outpatient clinics are supported by interdisciplinary teams.

Qualifications:
Current College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC) License (Full); Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) (Mandatory); Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada (FRCPC) (Mandatory)
