Job Description:
Old Scona Medical Centre is a well established, high volume community clinic in central Edmonton seeking two Family Physicians to join our collaborative team.
The successful candidates will provide comprehensive primary care to patients of all ages, managing both scheduled appointments and walk in visits. Physicians will diagnose and treat a wide range of acute and chronic medical conditions, conduct thorough histories and physical examinations, and develop individualized treatment plans.
Responsibilities include ordering and interpreting laboratory and diagnostic imaging, providing preventive care such as immunizations, cancer screening, chronic disease management, and lifestyle counselling, and addressing same day or urgent patient needs.
Physicians will maintain accurate and timely medical documentation using the clinic EMR, collaborate closely with other physicians, nursing staff, MOAs, and allied health professionals, and participate in clinic operations including billing accuracy, policy adherence, and quality improvement initiatives Ongoing professional development and adherence to CPSA standards are expected.
Qualifications:
• Must hold a current eligibility letter from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta under the sponsorship pathway
• Eligible for registration and licensure with the CPSA under the Practice Readiness Assessment or Provisional Register, as applicable
• Demonstrated commitment to comprehensive, patient centered family medicine across all age groups
• Strong communication, interpersonal, clinical decision making, and time management skills
• Comfortable working in both appointment based and walk in care environments
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
• Willingness to engage in ongoing professional development and continuous quality improvement
