Position Overview
The Department of Medicine (DOM), Division of Rheumatology at Michael Garron Hospital (MGH) is pleased to announce an opening for a consultant rheumatologist. MGH is an esteemed member of the Toronto East Health Network (TEHN) and serves as a leading partner within the Ontario Health Team (OHT), offering a highly integrated approach to healthcare. As a community teaching hospital fully affiliated with the University of Toronto, MGH caters to one of Canada’s most diverse and dynamic populations. The hospital features 470 beds dedicated to acute care, rehabilitation, and complex continuing care.
In 2022, MGH marked a significant milestone with the inauguration of the Ken and Marilyn Thomson Patient Care Centre, a modern eight-story facility, along with a new endoscopy unit. These advancements are part of an ongoing campus redevelopment initiative. The hospital also maintains robust multidisciplinary collaborations with Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre (SHSC) and the Odette Cancer Centre.
Eligibility Criteria
The ideal candidate will possess Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada certification in Rheumatology and must be eligible for medical licensure in the Province of Ontario.
The Opportunity
· Providing consultative rheumatologic care in a supportive multidisciplinary environment
· Access to a weekly outpatient clinic at MGH.
· Opportunities to teach both undergraduate and graduate students if desired.
· Potential to set up a busy outpatient practice nearby in the community of East York
