Job Description

Alberta Health Services – North Zone and the Diagnostic Imaging team for the Westlock Healthcare Centre, are currently looking for a Diagnostic Radiologist to join their current team of Radiologists. This position will provide Radiology services, with a key focus in reading patient scans.

The successful candidate will be required to join the already established Westlock Diagnostic Imaging community practice, within Westlock, and within the Westlock Healthcare Centre, to offer consistent Diagnostic Radiologist services.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Establish and maintain a full-time practice within the community of Westlock, with flexibility to offer remote based services.
  • Obtain and maintain an AHS Medical Staff Appointment and appropriate privileges to provide the Services.
  • Provide call assistance as per call schedules, including equal participation in the Diagnostic Radiologist call schedule, as required.
  • Abide by the AHS Medical Staff Bylaws, the AHS Medical Staff Rules and AHS policies.
  • Participate in quality improvement programs and initiatives undertaken within the Zone Clinical Department of Diagnostic Radiology.
  • Participate in relevant Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs.
  • Contribute to and participate in other administrative duties, as assigned.
  • Work collaboratively with peers and care team colleagues in support of patient care.

As a regional health hub, Westlock Healthcare Centre is an accredited hospital consisting of 46 acute care beds with additional services including continuing care, emergency, laboratory, pharmacy, renal dialysis, rehabilitation, ultrasound, X-Ray, CT scan and MRI, anesthesia and orthopedic services.
