Emergency Department Opportunity

Join our collaborative and experienced team at a fully accredited teaching hospital:

• 81 Acute Care beds
• 12-bed Emergency Department
• 4-bed Closed ICU, and
• 14-bed Inpatient Psychiatry Unit
•  Robust diagnostic services: MRI, CT, Ultrasound, X-ray, Lab, RT, and 24/7 Radiology for emergency situations
•  Interdisciplinary support with social work, NPs, and more on site

You'll manage a wide range of presentations from routine to complex, often with greater responsibility and continuity than in larger urban centres.

Compensation & Scheduling

• 8–10-hour shifts at an average rate of $300/hour (shift and day dependent)
• Shadow billing
• 24-hour ER backup coverage at $450/day (8am-8am) plus billings when called in
• Flexible, equitable scheduling with supportive coverage
• Single-physician coverage with another always available on call

Your Tools & Team

• Two fully equipped resuscitation rooms, ED ultrasound, difficult airway equipment, slit lamp
• On-site helipad for rapid transfers
• EMR: Meditech
• Strong interdisciplinary collaboration with Surgery, Internal Medicine, Psychiatry, Obstetrics, and Anesthesia always on-call or on-site.

Qualifications

• Licensed for independent practice with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO)
• Current CMPA coverage (Ontario)
• Certification in ACLS, ATLS, and PALS or CCFP(EM), or FRCPC(EM).
