The Opportunity

The Department of Medicine at PRHC is looking for a locum Endocrinologist for endo and diabetes coverage at PRHC. During the locum period the successful candidate would work 2 to 3 diabetes clinic days per week with diabetes educator support. One (1) day per week in the endocrine clinic with nursing support and inpatient consult work. Endocrine and diabetes inpatient consult service is 2 weeks per month, with no overnight coverage, with diabetes NP and nurse educator support.

Position Qualifications:

• Applicants must hold, or be eligible to obtain, licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO). A clear and viable pathway to licensure must be established at the time of application.

•Fellowship with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) in Internal Medicine and Endocrinologyor equivalent training (e.g., American Board Certification) and eligible for RCPSC assessment.

•Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with physicians, nurses, staff, volunteers, patients, hospital leadership, and the community as required

• Demonstrated analytical ability

• Ability and willingness to encourage a spirit of co-operation amongst team members

• Eligible for staff privileges at PRHC

• Evidence of ongoing continued medical education
