Job Description
The Endocrinologist will provide consultative and longitudinal care for adult patients with endocrine and metabolic disorders in a community-based, multidisciplinary clinic setting. The role involves comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and coordination of care, working closely with family physicians and allied health professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, diagnose, and manage patients with endocrine and metabolic conditions, including diabetes, thyroid disorders, adrenal and pituitary disorders, and metabolic bone disease
- Provide endocrinology consultations to family physicians and other referring providers
- Develop and oversee individualized treatment plans, including medication management and lifestyle interventions
- Order, interpret, and manage laboratory tests and diagnostic investigations related to endocrine conditions
- Monitor and manage chronic endocrine conditions with a focus on long-term disease control and prevention of complications
- Coordinate patient care with primary care physicians, specialists, and allied health professionals
- Provide patient education and counseling related to endocrine disorders and treatment plans
- Maintain accurate, timely, and complete electronic medical records
- Participate in follow-up care and continuity management
- Act as a consultant to other physicians within the multidisciplinary clinic environment
The position is on-site at clinic locations in Mississauga and Kitchener, or a combination of these locations. The role is permanent and full-time, with flexible scheduling to support patient care needs.
