Position Overview

SimcoDerm is a high-volume dermatology and skin cancer centre serving Barrie and the broader Simcoe–Muskoka region. We are seeking an Otolaryngologist–Head & Neck Surgeon (FRCSC) with an interest in facial skin cancer surgery, cutaneous oncology, and reconstructive procedures to join our multidisciplinary team on a part-time basis.

This position is ideal for new graduates, surgeons completing a Head & Neck fellowship, or early-career surgeons seeking to build a focused ambulatory facial skin cancer practice without the administrative and call burden of hospital-based work.

Clinical Focus

• High volume of biopsy-proven facial NMSC and melanoma
• Reconstructive work including local flaps, advancement/rotation flaps, full-thickness grafts, T-zone repairs, and complex layered closures

Practice Environment

• Modern surgical suites fully equipped for facial reconstructive procedures
• Dermatology-trained surgical nurses and efficient OR turnover
• Well-established postoperative care pathways
• No hospital call or inpatient responsibilities

Scheduling & Compensation

• Flexible scheduling: half-day or full-day surgical blocks
• Frequency: monthly to weekly sessions, depending on surgeon availability
• Physician bills OHIP directly through the group billing (independent practice model)

Qualifications

• FRCSC in Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery
• CPSO Independent Licence or Eligibility
• CMPA coverage appropriate for surgical practice
