The community of Kamsack located in Southeast Health Network 3 is seeking a full time primary health care physician to join the team at the Assiniboine Valley Medical Centre. As part of the seven physician group working in the clinic, the successful candidate will provide primary health care services, including Opioid Agonist Therapy and harm reduction services, and 24 hour emergency services to the community of Kamsack and surrounding communities, resort areas, and First Nations in the Health Network.
There is a focus on an integrated team approach to client care with multi-disciplinary rounds, home care, therapies, public health nursing, mental health and addictions, chronic disease management and dietitian services being provided in the facility on an outpatient/visiting services basis.

Qualifications:
Certified or eligible to be certified with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)Regular or Provisional License with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan (CPSS) (or eligible to be licensed)Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certificationRecommended - Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)Completion of a methadone and/or buprenorphine/naloxone workshop/course and mentoring requirements as required and recognized by the College of Physicians and Surgeons (CPSS) – or willing to completeValid driver’s licenseSuccessful SHA credentialing including but not limited to acceptable reference checks and criminal record check with vulnerable sectorCurrent Canadian Medical Protective Association coverageLegal entitlement to work in CanadaMethadone and/or Buprenorphine/Naloxone Initiating Prescribers must pursue ongoing education relevant to Opioid Agonist Therapy (OAT)Please note that physicians interested in obtaining the Methadone and/or Buprenorphine/Naloxone Initiating Prescriber education will be considered; however, preference will be given to candidates that have completed the training requirements of the CPSS.
