St. Joseph’s Health Centre, Toronto, is seeking staff psychiatrists for a mix of general outpatient and inpatient psychiatry services. We deliver care to a diverse and often marginalized population in a collaborative and dynamic multidisciplinary setting with support from mental health clinicians and case managers. We aim to deliver a time-limited intensive episode of care in the outpatient clinic aimed at reintegrating patients with appropriate community supports. The Department offers an exciting range of psychiatric services including rTMS, ECT, urgent care child & adolescent clinic, adult urgent care, ACTT, group psychotherapy modalities, Day Treatment Program, and inpatient services for children and adolescents, transitional age youth and the general adult population.

Position Description: Full-time (1.0 FTE) general psychiatry services in the adult inpatient and outpatient setting. One position is also reserved for a candidate with proficiency in concurrent disorders (roughly 25% of time doing concurrent disorders work).

Remuneration includes a combination of OHIP billings, on call stipend (HOCC), a generous base stipend and educational funds for contributions to medical education and training. There are currently no overhead expenses. Permanent staff must be eligible for a university appointment as SJHC is an academic affiliate of the University of Toronto Temerty Faculty of Medicine. 

St. Joseph’s Health Centre, a division of Unity Health Toronto, serves the West Toronto catchment area, which is home to an ethno racially and socioeconomically diverse population. Our emergency department is one of the busiest in the GTA. We provide access to a suite of multidisciplinary clinical services within a general hospital setting to support the provision of care to this diverse population in collaboration with community partners.

Candidates must hold an active certificate of registration from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
