Full-Time or Locum Hospitalist Positions (Family Medicine and Internal Medicine)

We are looking for Acute Care Hospitalists for full-time and locum work at Guelph General Hospital (GGH). The Department of Hospitalist Medicine has recently secured additional funding for our current and new lines! Remuneration is extremely competitive: stipends/HOC + FFS with no overhead. We have a billing clerk at our hospital who will handle billings at no cost.

Guelph General Hospital (GGH) is located less than 1 hour west of the Greater Toronto Area. Our acute care hospitalist group is composed of both FM and IM trained physicians. FM +1 fellowship is not required, and new graduates are also welcome!

We are looking to welcome new colleagues to the group for full-time (preferred) or locum positions. There are opportunities to pick up weekday, weekend, evening admission, and/or night call shifts. There are no call requirements for the first few weeks (unless you would prefer otherwise). During your first couple of weeks, new hires also have the option of starting off with a smaller-sized list, which will gradually be increased to a standard size (averaging around 16-24 patients daily).

We pride ourselves on our extremely supportive and friendly group. We have fantastic on-site/local support from our closed ICU, a range of Internal Medicine and Surgical specialists, and fantastic allied health teams. There is access to MRI, CT, XR, US, nuclear imaging, interventional radiology, and 24-hour labs. Optionally, there is opportunity to teach Family Medicine residents. Our department has been very highly rated by medical learners for over 10 years.

Our team provides general medical care for stable adult inpatients ages 18+ (acute and chronic issues). We do not provide care to Pediatric nor ICU/step down unit patients.
