Saskatchewan Health Authority – Saskatoon and University Saskatchewan, Department of Surgery, Division of General Surgery is seeking a General Surgeon for a 0.6 FTE . The ideal candidate will focus on the diverse breadth of general surgery including endoscopy, complex hernia repair, and a willingness to perform intinerant surgery outside Saskatoon several times a month. Recent Trauma and Acute Care Surgery training essential as the successful candidate will participate proportionately (0.6 FTE) in both the Acute Care Surgery and Trauma Service call schedule. Collective responsibilities include clinical care of inpatients and outpatients as well as education of undergraduate and postgraduate trainees. The successful candidate will hold appointments in both Saskatchewan Health Authority and the University of Saskatchewan, where teaching of surgical residents and medical students is integral. The successful candidate will need to be an active ATLS instructor and have completed the DSTC and ASSET course.

Qualifications:
The successful candidate will hold certification or be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Surgery of Canada (RCPSC) and be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan (CPSS).
