Job Description
Hospitalist locums are needed in Kirkland Lake
$10,000/week
Saturday to Friday
Local billing clerks available to assist with billings for a 5% fee (optional)
The Northern Specialists Locum Program (NSLP) provides our hospitalists with a daily honorarium, travel day honorariums and they provide reimbursement for travel and accommodations.
Description/Duties
Hospitalists are responsible for the Intensive Care Unit (4 bed ICU, 2 step-down)
Average of 35 patients per hospitalist (mix of alc and acute)
Two hospitalists model with alternating on call for admissions and overnight
Rotation begins Saturday at 08:00 until Saturday at 08:00
Accommodations
Local accommodations are available within a five-minute drive of the hospital at minimal cost. In addition, we offer two comfortable layover rooms within the hospital for overnight stays.
If preferred, discounted rates are also available at the Microtel, which includes access to a pool, gym, and continental breakfast. The Ramada Inn is another nearby option for accommodation.
Blanche River Health has two hospital sites located in Kirkland Lake and Englehart only 35 minutes apart.
Our Kirkland Lake site has 34 medical/surgical beds plus 4 ICU beds and 2 step-down beds, 24 hour emergency department, general surgery, anesthesia, visiting specialists, diagnostic imaging department with a CT scanner, laboratory services, physiotherapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy (with on-site chemo mixing), a satellite oncology clinic (via OTN through HSN), mental health, palliative care, CCAC, victim services and VCC.
The Englehart site of Blanche River Health is a 20 beds facility that provides primary care services in a rural community with a catchment area of approximately 8,000 residents. In addition to a core staff of dedicated and caring professionals, we offer physiotherapy, respiratory therapy, an emergency department, inpatient unit, diagnostic imaging, laboratory services, pharmacy, and a non-urgent patient transfer service.
