Primary Care Lead (Family Physician), Manitoba HIV Program
Part-Time (0.2 EFT, 8 hours/week)

The position is classified as Class 3, on the WRHA-Churchill Health Region Employers and Doctors Manitoba Collective Agreement salary scale. Overview
Accountable to the Director, Manitoba (MB) HIV Program, and in collaboration with the Clinical Education Coordinator and Medical Directors, the MB HIV Program Primary Care Lead works to advance primary care provider capacity for HIV care in MB. This will be achieved by supporting the development and delivery of education and training initiatives for the MB HIV Program, consulting with primary care providers providing and supporting care for PLHIV and supporting the development and implementation of all clinical protocols, guidelines and quality initiatives.
Working Conditions
This job is part-time, 8 hours per week (0.2 EFT), with regular workdays that fall between 8:00am and 6:00pm Mondays through Fridays. Physical location is 705 Broadway in Winnipeg, MB. A remote/hybrid work arrangement is available. Job requirements include:
- Occasional evening work
- Occasional travel throughout the city and province
- A Valid Class 5 driver’s license and access to a vehicle

Qualifications
Required
- Family physician with an interest in HIV/STBBI care, mental health, addictions, harm reduction and health equity.
- Licensed with the College of Physician and Surgeons of Manitoba and current registered member in good standing.
- Minimum of two years’ experience working in a primary care setting.
- Experience or training in HIV/STBBI’s, mental health and addictions care in the primary care setting. Completion of British Columbia Centre for Excellence in HIV/AIDS HIV Treatment and Management online training course (or obtained within one month of employment).
Preferred
- Knowledge of cultural safety and experience working with/in Indigenous communities.
- Knowledge of health equity, harm reduction, trauma informed and client centered care.
- Experience providing care to populations vulnerable to HIV including the 2SLGBTQI+community and people who use substances.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and change management skills.
- Experience leading or supporting quality improvement projects or other system change initiatives in healthcare.
- Knowledge of primary care quality indicators and processes for quality improvement.
- Trained in opiate agonist therapy.
- Knowledge of the core concepts and practices of psychosocial rehabilitation (PSR).
