Physiatrist Job Summary

We are seeking a Physiatrist to join our team. The Physiatrist is responsible for providing comprehensive rehabilitation services to patients, including diagnosing and treating musculoskeletal and neuromuscular disorders. This position collaborates with other healthcare professionals to ensure patient health and wellness.

Physiatrist Duties and Responsibilities

• Patient Assessment: Examine and diagnose patients with musculoskeletal and neuromuscular disorders
• Treatment Planning: Develop tailored, evidence-based rehabilitation protocols for stroke recovery, brain/spinal cord injuries, amputations, and sports injuries.
• Administer physical therapy modalities to improve patient quality of life
• Prescribe medications and other medical interventions
• Monitoring patient progress and make adjustments to treatment plans as needed
• Consulting with other healthcare providers to ensure patient health and wellness
• Stay informed of new developments in the field
• Interventional Procedures: Perform diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, such as EMG/NCS testing, trigger point injections, joint injections, and ultrasound-guided procedures.
• Patient Care: Monitor patient progress, manage pain pharmacology, and adjust treatment plans to maximize physical function.

Physiatrist Requirements and Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in physical medicine and rehabilitation
• Valid provincial medical license
• Board certification in physical medicine and rehabilitation
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Able to work independently and collaboratively
• Demonstrated commitment to patient care
