Job Description
North Bay Cardiology is seeking an experienced Level III Echocardiographer / Cardiologist with expertise in echocardiography to join our growing regional cardiovascular program providing remote echocardiography interpretation. This is an ideal opportunity for physicians seeking a highly flexible role that can be performed remotely while contributing to the delivery of high-quality cardiovascular care in Northern Ontario.
About North Bay Cardiology
North Bay Cardiology is a comprehensive regional cardiovascular practice serving North Bay and communities across Northeastern Ontario. Since opening in 2022, the practice has rapidly expanded and now provides:
- Accreditation Canada accredited echocardiography laboratory
- Contrast-enhanced echocardiography
- Large ambulatory rhythm monitoring program
- Cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPET)
- Exercise stress testing
- Regional heart failure program
- Rapid access chest pain clinic
- Multidisciplinary cardiac rehabilitation program developed in collaboration with the University Health Network (UHN)
- Active participation in cardiovascular quality improvement initiatives
Our echocardiography laboratory performs a large and growing volume of outpatient studies, creating an opportunity for experienced echocardiographers to join our reporting team.
Position
The successful candidate will provide remote interpretation of transthoracic echocardiograms performed in our Accreditation Canada accredited laboratory.
This position offers exceptional flexibility and may be ideal for physicians wishing to supplement an existing practice, reduce clinical workload while remaining professionally active, or transition toward a more flexible work schedule. The successful candidate could also contribute to the offices continuing education with once monthly virtual rounds.
Reporting volumes can be tailored to individual preference.
Examples include:
- 10–20 studies per week
- 20–40 studies per week
There are no clinic responsibilities, hospital call requirements, or administrative responsibilities associated with this position.

Qualifications
Applicants should possess:
- Certification in Cardiology with expertise in echocardiography
- Level III training in adult echocardiography (or equivalent experience)
- Eligibility for independent practice in Ontario

- Commitment to high-quality, evidence-based echocardiography
