The Opportunity

PRHC is seeking a Nuclear Cardiologist to join its vibrant growing cardiology program. As one of the Cardiac Centres of Excellence for the Central East LHIN, PRHC serves as a regional cardiac referral centre for our partner hospitals through the region, supported by regional nephrology and hemodialysis programs, vascular surgery and Level 3 ICU.


Qualified Candidates will:

· Join our team of Cardiologists who provide MRP Cardiac Care in our CCU, ward telemetry unit

· Provide Consultative services to our busy Emergency Department and throughout the hospital

· Attend in PRHC Regional Chest Pain, Rapid Access and Heart Function clinics (NP supported). Reading and Reporting of Nuclear Cardiology studies to support these clinics is required

·Have opportunity to join an established group Cardiology practice with full range of testing: stress testing, stress echocardiography, echocardiography, Holter Monitors

Position Qualifications:

• Applicants must hold, or be eligible to obtain, licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO). A clear and viable pathway to licensure must be established at the time of application.


•Fellowship with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) or equivalent training (e.g., American Board Certification) and eligible for RCPSC assessment.


• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with physicians, nursing, staff, patients, directors, managers, and the community as required


• Eligible for staff privileges at Peterborough Regional Health Centre


• Evidence of ongoing continued medical education


• Demonstrated interest in patient safety and quality improvement


· Level II or III Nuclear Cardiology Certification is required
