Obstetrician /Gynecologist
Positions available: 1.0 FTE – Full-time
Headwaters Health Centre in Orangeville is currently seeking a full-time Obstetrician /Gynecologist to join our vibrant team/community. Practice opportunities include primary and consultation obstetrics, gynecology surgery (fully equipped for minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery), outpatient clinics and emergency department consultation.

MATERNAL CHILD CARE PROGRAM
The Maternal Child Care program currently provides low risk obstetrical care (Level IB) by both Obstetricians and midwives. Our model for the inpatient birthing unit is that of LDRP. Our volumes have been steadily increasing, with just over 1000 births in 2025. We are in the process of expanding our program to support our growing community and needs and anticipate having a level 2A nursery in the near future. We are committed to providing quality care and as a team of physicians, nurses, midwives and anesthesiologists are actively participating in the MOREOB risk management program.
Expectations for Educations/Skills:
· Licensed by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario
· Certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada to practice Obstetrics and Gynecology
· Proven ability to work within the expected scope of practice for general Obstetrics and Gynecology, including minimally invasive surgery and colposcopy. Urogynecology fellowship is a bonus.
· Comply with the scheduling structures established by the Chief or designate to ensure that Hospital services are covered 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The current call load is 1 in 4.
· Comply with the requirement to be physically available for consultations within 15 min radius to the hospital when on call
· Abide by the Hospital By-laws
· Attend staff and departmental meetings within the Hospital
· Headwaters Health Centre is affiliated with more than one university, namely McMaster, and TMU. It is recognized as a teaching site for medical students and residents. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in the teaching process of medical trainees.
