PEDIATRIC ORTHOPEDIC SURGEON
CEREBRAL PALSY & NEUROMOTOR
ALBERTA CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL
The Department of Surgery, Alberta Health Services –and the University of Calgary invite applications for the position of Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon, specializing in the areas of cerebral palsy and neuromotor conditions, at the Alberta Children’s Hospital.
Qualifications will include completion of a Canadian orthopedic surgery residency program (or equivalent), certified Fellowship in orthopedic surgery by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and will be eligible for independent practice licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta. Licensure sponsorship will not be offered.
Additionally, the successful candidate will have also completed fellowship training in pediatric orthopedic surgery with a focus in cerebral palsy and neuromotor conditions and must display experience in pediatric orthopedic trauma care.
Special consideration may be given to candidates with graduate degrees or additional training in medical education, clinical epidemiology, and/or applied research.
The successful candidate will become a member of both the Sections of Pediatric Surgery and Orthopedic Surgery and will work in a collaborative model to advance patient care and quality improvement. The candidate will be expected to take part in pediatric orthopedic trauma call. Appointment to the Cumming School of Medicine, University of Calgary will be commensurate on their experience and academic credentials. Teaching at the undergraduate and postgraduate level will be required. Committee duties will be expected as the need arises.

Calgary is a dynamic growing city with a young population and this tertiary hospital has an extensive catchment area and excellent referral base. The successful candidate will be joining a group of 7 dynamic and supportive colleagues who provide a wide base of subspecialty expertise.
