Job Description
Alberta Health Services is inviting applications for a Pediatric Intensivist to join the Stollery Children's Hospital in Edmonton.
Responsibilities/Duties:
Each position is a 0.75 or 1.0 FTE of clinical time within the Pediatric Intensive Care at the Stollery Children's Hospital with the opportunity to increase to 1.0 FTE in time. This role has the clinical responsibilities of a pediatric intensivist which includes 1600 clinical hours/year at 1.0 FTE in the form of service weeks and night/weekend shifts in keeping with the Pediatric Intensive Care Clinical ARP. All members of the Division are expected to contribute and actively participate in non-clinical activities including quality improvement, teaching, research, and administration.
Qualifications:
Interested applicants must have:
· Medical Degree
· Have successfully completed a residency in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine in Canada with FRCPC certification
· Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta
· Interest/qualifications in Quality Improvement and Data Informatics
· Training and experience in Pediatric Palliative Care
· Experience in managing patients on ECLS/TPE/CRRT
· Experience in managing solid organ transplantation
Assets:
· 3 to 5 years of established independent practice in a pediatric critical care environment

The Stollery Children's Hospital provides quaternary critical care services for the children of Northern Alberta, as well as the largest catchment area in Western Canada. The Stollery Pediatric Critical Care Units (PICU and PCICU) provide care to over 1000 patients per/year and are responsible for providing a full array of cardiovascular, medical, and surgical treatments to those children both in and outside of Northern Alberta. The Stollery Children's Hospital PICU is home to very active and successful ECLS, transport, and pediatric solid organ transplant programs. Our program prides itself on excellent clinical outcomes and has recently moved into a new state-of-the-art PICU and PCICU with 16 beds each.
