Medical Oncologist | Hematology

BC Cancer is recognized internationally for excellence in cancer care, research, and education. At the Victoria centre, physicians practice within a comprehensive cancer program that includes Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Palliative Care, and a wide range of supportive services such as Nutrition, Clinical Trials, and Patient and Family Counseling. The centre also partners closely with community oncology clinics— including Nanaimo, BC—so patients can access systemic therapy and follow‑up care closer to home. This integrated, team‑based model allows physicians to work collaboratively while delivering high‑quality care to patients across Vancouver Island.







We are looking for a medical oncologist or hematologist with expertise in treating lymphoma, myeloma +/- leukemia. to support a locum opportunity within a collaborative, patient‑centred care team. The successful candidate will contribute to high‑quality clinical care and may also participate in research, administrative, and educational activities. There is potential for transitioning to a permanent position in the future.

You have obtained, or are in the process of completing, Fellowship standing with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Internal Medicine, along with a Certificate of Special Competence in Medical Oncology. No fellowship in Hematology is required; however, experience in hematology is considered an asset. You must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia and meet the credentialing requirements of the BC Cancer Professional Advisory Committee. In addition, you should qualify for a clinical appointment in the Division of Medical Oncology, Department of Medicine, at the University of British Columbia. Eligibility for a valid license to practice medicine in Canada is required.











Successful candidates will have:



Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada as per TRC (2015) and BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019).

Knowledge of social, economic, political and historical realities impacting indigenous communities and familiarity with Indigenous Cultural Safety and anti-racism and accompanying reports (BC DRIPA, TRC, etc.).
