An exciting position with a specialized focus in addiction medicine currently exists within Recovery Alberta. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive care to individuals with substance use disorders, offering immediate access to evidence-informed addiction treatment in. The Integrated Stabilization Centre (ISC) will be opening in Downtown Edmonton in partnership with Edmonton Police Services. Recovery Alberta will be providing 24/7 clinical health service delivery within the ISC. Ensuring clinical assessment, stabilization, and care planning including supporting integrated discharge planning and transition to recovery‑oriented services.
The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide medical services including assessments, follow-up care, treatment planning/referrals, ordering lab & imaging tests, writing/reviewing prescriptions, and treatment of co-occurring substance use disorders.
The successful candidate should be or apply for an Academic appointment with the University of Alberta or the University of Calgary Psychiatry Department and help with teaching Residents and students that come to the area.

· FTE: Multiple positions with various FTE based on availability. An equitable portion of on-call inclusive of weekends and statutory holidays (7AM-7PM)
The practitioner will report to the Addiction Services Provincial Medical Director, Outpatient Services.
Start July 1, 2026

· The successful candidate will have an MD, with a CCFP or FRCPC designation, will be eligible for licensure in the province of Alberta
· will hold a methadone license.
· Experience with addictions, opioid dependency and an ability to effectively manage patients in crisis are definite assets.
· Physicians who currently hold addiction medicine certification, have relevant training or have a keen interest in learning addiction medicine are encouraged to express interest.
