Psychiatrists typically complete an admission consultation, follow-up during the 6 weeks to support diagnostic clarification, medication management and therapy strategies. They will complete a discharge summary to send to family physician and other community providers. They are also expected to provide general support and clinical leadership to multidisciplinary team.
Walk-In Service:

If deemed appropriate, psychiatry can complete one-time consultation to support with diagnostic clarification, service navigation and medication management which will be sent to community providers. Psychiatry will review previous documentation and psychometry to support with diagnostic formulation. A nurse will room the patient to check vital signs and discuss case with psychiatry.
