The Palliative Care Physician Group in Island Health have a part-time permanent position available for a palliative care physician in Port Alberni BC able to work in a variety of clinical settings including community home visits and a local hospice.

Description of role:

It will include:

Provision of palliative care consults and follow ups in West Coast General Hospital and the local 4 bed hospice, Ty Watson House.
Provision of outpatient and home visit palliative care consults within the Port Alberni area with occasional outreach to the west coast of Vancouver Island including Tofino/Ucluelet (driver’s license and car are required)
Participation in the rural & remote palliative care on-call schedule
Teaching and supervision of medical learners (requires eligibility for faculty appointment with UBC)
Benefits

May be eligible for additional remuneration in accordance with the Rural Subsidiary Agreement (RSA) including:

Recruitment Incentive - $10,000

Fee Premium - 7.98%;

Annual Flat Fee - $12,110.22

Rural CME starting at $2200/annum in year 3&4 in community, increasing to a maximum of $4400/annum after 4 years.
