Fee for Service On Call Stipend – Physicians are remunerated for being on call. The annual compensation will be calculated in accordance with the Cancer Care Alberta Physician compensation grid for Medical Oncologists ranging from Level 1 $416,192 per annum to Level 3 $531,341 per annum. Grid placement will be based on qualifications, training and experience.

Clinical Service Contract; compensation competitive with other hospitalist contracts on Vancouver Island/BC. Rural Subsidiary Agreement (RSA) incentives: Recruitment incentive up to $10,000 (pro-rated), Relocation up to $15,000, Flat fee $6,508.80, Fee premium 4.20%, CME: $2,200/year (years 3–4) and $4,400/year after 4 years. Relocation benefits may be available.

The average gross income of a Family Medicine Physician in Alberta is $380,522. Compensation for this opportunity is based on a fee-for-service model and may include additional program stipends.

Fee-for-Service

Combination payment; physicians typically earn around $1,000 per day (daily remuneration varies based on patient volume).

Base salary: physician’s choice between LFP billing or NTP contract ($312K/year + bonuses), or Fee-for-Service; Estimated earning potential: $400K+/year

Fee-for-Service; share of bonus LFP (locum) payments (proportion negotiable, in line with Doctors of BC recommendations); billing support to maximize earnings (modern EMR and AI scribe).

Alternative Payment Arrangement; 1 hour of paid indirect care for every 6 hours of direct care. Additional 1 hour of paid indirect care per day if covering an inbox (total 2 hours indirect care per 6 hours of direct care).
