1-Week FHO-FHT Locum Opportunity on the Hamilton Mountain

A family physician with a solo FHO-FHT practice on the Hamilton Mountain is seeking locum coverage at his practice for the week of March 16 – 20, 2026. As part of the Hamilton Family Health Team and a large 22 member FHO this is an excellent opportunity for candidates looking to provide short-term care for a well-managed roster as part of an interdisciplinary team.

The successful locum candidate will care for a roster of ~1,900 well-managed patients and can expect to see ~20 patients per day on average. The practice is supported by experienced administrative team as well as a variety of allied healthcare professionals including an experienced RN (4 days/week), clinical pharmacist (every second Wednesday), mental health counsellor (1 day/week), and an offsite registered dietitian.

The ideal candidate will be available to provide coverage on-site from Monday – Thursday (start and end times to be negotiated) with availability to manage labs, phone-calls/inbox and prescriptions as well as any same-day appointments that may arise on Friday. After hours on-call coverage to the FHO is not required, and the practice is offering a competitive hourly stipend for all work (including administrative tasks) provided by the locum.   

This bright and clean practice is conveniently located just minutes away from the Lincoln Alexander Parkway and is close to several shops and restaurants. Parking is free for both staff and patients, and the location holds 2 exam rooms, a private office, and 2 additional rooms for patient consultations.

Patient records are managed through OSCAR EMR and the practice also utilizes the OCEAN platform for patient referrals.
