The Departments of Medicine at St. Michael's Hospital and University of Toronto are seeking a qualified full-time academic neurologist with clinical expertise in multiple sclerosis. The successful candidate must be eligible for a full-time clinical academic appointment at the rank of Lecturer or Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor at the University of Toronto. The candidate will have an academic position description of Clinician Teacher or Clinician Educator. The expected start date of the position is January 2, 2026, but an earlier start is possible.
The successful candidate will hold an MD degree and should have, or be eligible for, certification in Neurology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO). The successful candidate will also have fellowship training in multiple sclerosis (MS). The successful candidate will also have or be working towards a graduate degree or other advanced training relevant to their area of specialization. This position will support the large patient demands in the MS program at St. Michael’s Hospital. In addition, the successful candidate will participate fully in the relevant MS educational activities, including supervision of fellowship trainees at St. Michael’s Hospital and the University of Toronto. The successful candidate will also collaborate in clinical research programs and quality improvement programs. The Division currently consists of 20 full time neurologists with a long history and strong continuing focus on excellence in teaching. Participation in the neurology inpatient ward and consultation services, as well as providing on call coverage, is expected. The successful candidate will report to the Head, Division of Neurology at St. Michael’s Hospital. Clinic work in the Barlo MS clinic will be under the direction of the clinic’s Medical Director. .
Estimated remuneration will be determined primarily by clinical work, with potential for additional remuneration for leadership in academic or clinic activity.
