We operate high-volume clinics that deliver high-quality, culturally responsive, and harm reduction-focused services to individuals affecte by substance use, mental illness, and sytemic barriers. Our clinics are deeply rooted in partnerships and collaboration with Indigenous communities and supported by a multidisciplinary team and AI-enhanced clinical tools, ensuring effective care delivery across both urban and remote populations.
Position Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and collaborative Physician to join our dynamic team, with a focus on addiction medicine, mental health, harm reduction, and infectious disease management. This position is flexible and can be tailored to virtual, hybrid, or in-person work. You will provide trauma-informed and person-centered care in partnership with physician assistants, nurses, mental health clinicians, and Indigenous health navigators.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive assessments and medical management for individuals with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions
- Initiate and monitor opioid agonist therapy (OAT), including Suboxone, Methadone, Sublocade, Kadian
Implement and support harm reduction strategies, including:
- Overdose prevention education and take-home naloxone kits
- Practical strategies for reducing substance-related harms based on patient goals
- Safer supply prescribing
Address mental health concerns, including:
- Assessment and diagnosis of common conditions (e.g., depression, anxiety, PTSD, ADHD, bipolar disorder)
- Medication initiation and monitoring (e.g., SSRIs, mood stabilizers, antipsychotics)
- Collaboration with therapists, case managers, and psychiatrists to support recovery
Screen for and treat infectious diseases (HCV, HIV, STIs), including:
- Ordering appropriate lab work and imaging
- Initiating treatment or connecting with specialized care where needed
- Participating in our in-house Hepatitis C care pathway
- Use our AI-supported EMR and digital tools to streamline clinical documentation and patient engagement
- Provide culturally safe, trauma-informed care, especially for Indigenous patients and other marginalized communities
- Participate in multidisciplinary care planning, clinical meetings, and program development
Qualifications
- Medical license in good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO)
- Experience or interest in addiction medicine, mental health, and harm reduction
- Familiarity with trauma-informed care, virtual care delivery, and EMRs
- Knowledge of or willingness to learn about infectious disease screening and treatment
- Strong interpersonal skills, with a nonjudgmental, recovery-oriented approach
- Ability to collaborate across disciplines and work independently in a virtual or hybrid care model
