Job Description
Lake of the Woods District Hospital (LWDH), in partnership with Kenora Chiefs Advisory (KCA), is seeking full-time Pediatricians to join a newly developed and collaborative pediatric program serving Kenora and surrounding Indigenous communities. This is a unique opportunity to shape a growing service in a supportive, community-focused environment.
Practice Highlights
- Comprehensive Scope: Inpatient and outpatient care, ED consultations, and community outreach.
- Collaborative Scheduling: Rotating clinic and on-call schedules developed with the Service Lead.
- Program Development: Involvement in shaping services, including community clinics and inpatient care.
- Travel: Fleet vehicles provided for outreach to KCA communities; trave time (drive in/out) is included within your 8hr day.
Compensation & Benefits
- Annual Salary: $342,456.45 per 1.0 FTE
- Shadow Billing: Additional 51.2%
- Critical Mass Stipend: $42,625 shared among the pediatric team
- On-Call Compensation: $511.68/day
- Overhead: 4% fee covers office, supplies, clinic support, and billing services
- Work Schedule: 44 weeks/year with 6 weeks vacation and 2 weeks CME
- FTE: Based on 45 hours/week;
Qualifications
- Licensed (or eligible for licensure) with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO)
- CMPA Coverage
- Entitled to work in Canada
- Pediatric certification (FRCPC or equivalent)
- Experience working with Indigenous communities is an asset
