The community of Estevan, located in Southeast Saskatchewan is actively recruiting a family medicine physician with enhanced anesthesia skills to support anesthesia needs in Estevan and Weyburn. In addition to providing 1-2 days/week of anesthesia services, the successful candidate has the opportunity to provide additional services such as  community primary health care, inpatient and long-term care,  and emergency room. As a member of the surgical services team, the candidate will provide their equitable share of on call for anesthesia services in a 1:3 rotation .St. Joseph's in Estevan is a fully accredited Hospital with two operating theaters, a labor and delivery ward, a 24-hour emergency room, an inpatient unit, a diagnostic imaging department with a CT scanner and a dialysis unit. Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will be professional, have excellent communication skills, and thrive in a team-based environment with a commitment to patient and family-centered care in addition to the below qualifications:

Certified with the College of Family Physicians of Canada

Eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan

Acceptable enhanced training in anesthesia (i.e. 3rd-year residency in family practice anesthesia)

Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)

Valid driver’s licence

Successful Saskatchewan health Authority (SHA) credentialing including but not limited to acceptable reference checks and criminal record check with vulnerable sector

Current Canadian Medical Protective Association coverage

Legal entitlement to work in Canada
