Recovery Alberta, in partnership with the University of Alberta, Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry, is inviting applications to take the role of Adult Psychiatrist to work with the inpatient population on the General Adult Psychiatry Unit and at the Psychiatry Treatment Clinic (PTC) at the University of Alberta Hospital (UAH) in the Department of Addictions and Mental Health.
The Psychiatrist will manage inpatients on a General Adult Psychiatry Unit and will also act as a consultant on behalf of the Inpatient Psychiatry Team. They will be responsible for the assessment and treatment of patients admitted to the University of Alberta Hospital Psychiatry Inpatient Units and will also provide call coverage for the ER department while on duty.
The physician will provide direct care of Severe and Persistent clients at the Psychiatry Treatment Clinic for the purpose of initial assessments, treatment care planning, pharmacological & non-pharmacological management and follow-up at the Psychiatry Treatment Clinic at the University of Alberta Hospital.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have an MD and must be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Psychiatry, for licensure in the province of Alberta.
