Job Description
Alberta Precision Laboratories (APL) North Sector, in partnership with the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology, University of Alberta, Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, in Edmonton, Alberta is seeking a qualified Anatomical Pathologist with Surgical Pathology Fellowship in one of the following areas; lymphoma pathology, gynecologic pathology, dermatopathology or general surgical pathology. This position will support a team of pathologists at our Edmonton Base Lab site. Successful applicants will also be considered for appointment with the University of Alberta’s Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology. The Department of Lab Medicine & Pathology, with 100+ pathologists’ functions as a Center of Excellence, supported by state-of-the-art ancillary testing capabilities (immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry, cytogenetics and molecular pathology).

Pathologist must maintain the highest possible standards of practice including prompt delivery of services to match established key performance indicators and provincial metrics, must actively participate in quality assurance and quality improvement programs, and must actively participate in undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate medical teaching. The successful applicant is expected to become an active zonal consultant in their area(s) of expertise. In addition to a sub-specialty practice, participation in general surgical pathology practice is required. Fellowship training and/or expertise in Lymphoma, is our current need.
