Position Description:
The Moncton Hospital, a facility within Horizon Health Network, is recruiting Cardiologists to join the Department of Internal Medicine. Medical sub-specialty services are offered to a regional population of up to 500,000 for secondary and some tertiary services. The 386-bed regional hospital offers a well-equipped 8-bed coronary care unit, a step-down telemetry unit, a Cardiac Assessment Clinic, all non-invasive cardiac investigative modalities and a full pacemaker service.

Job Duties:
A typical weekly schedule will include:
- On-call coverage in coordination with other members of the Department
- Daily inpatient rounds
- Inpatient consultations
- Hospital-based clinics
- Office hours
- Involvement in teaching residents and medical students
Remuneration:
Salaried
The candidate will be remunerated on a salaried model ranging from $249, 054 to $302, 796.
Qualifications:
· The Department of Internal Medicine requires that its members practicing have passed the examinations of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or the examination of le Collège des médecins du Québec. In circumstances where no Canadian trained applicants are available, the Department will consider physicians with certification from the American Board of Internal Medicine who are able to obtain licensure in the State of Maine. In special circumstances, foreign graduates who qualify for licensure in the Province of New Brunswick will be considered.

Incentives:
$50,000.00 accompanied by a 2 year return of service.
Relocation reimbursement of up to $8,000.

Horizon’s The Moncton Hospital is located in the city of Moncton. Situated in the centre of this vibrant and friendly city, The Moncton Hospital is a leader in health care delivery and health promotion.
The hospital is a level 2 trauma centre that includes tertiary care for neurosurgery, neonatal intensive care and maternal fetal medicine services. It serves as a referral centre for these tertiary services and other specialty services across New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island and northern Nova Scotia.
The Moncton Hospital is among Canada’s leading centres for neurosurgery, neurology and active advanced-stage oncology (cancer) services and is home to the NB Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Unit, the NB Organ and Tissue Program and the Perinatal NB Program.
The Moncton Medical Education Program, affiliated with Dalhousie University and Memorial University of Newfoundland, and the following fully accredited teaching programs are administered through The Moncton Hospital: Dietetic Internship Program, the School of Radiologic Technology and Research, and the Pharmacy Residency Program.
